Vivo X30 series arrives with 5G and Exynos 980 chip

Vivo has launched its new X30 and X30 Pro flagship smartphones at an event in China. Both the Vivo X30 and X30 Pro sport a 6.44-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The devices are powered by Samsung’s Exynos 980 SoC, a chipset that supports dual mode 5G.

The Vivo X30 sports a triple camera setup which includes a 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 32-megapixel portrait lens with 50mm focal length.

The X30 Pro has an additional 13-megapixel periscope lens for 5x optical zoom and up to 60x digital zoom. Both the devices sport a similar 32-megapixel selfie camera placed in a tiny punch-hole.

Both these have a glass back, liquid-cooling mechanism and an in-display fingerprint scanner. They also pack a 4,350mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. There’s a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.

The Vivo X30 is priced at 3,298 Yuan (∼ $471 / Rs. 33,450) for the base 128GB variant whereas the 256GB storage variant is priced at 3,598 Yuan (∼ $514 / Rs. 36,490). The Vivo X30 Pro starts at 3,998 Yuan (∼$571 / Rs. 40,550) for the 128GB variant, whereas its 256GB variant costs 4,298 Yuan (∼$614 / Rs. 43,490).

Both these smartphones are now available for pre-order and will go on sale from December 28 in China. There’s no word yet on their availability in other markets.
