Samsung has revealed the pricing for its new flagship Note 20 series of smartphones in India. Pre-bookings for both the Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra are also open in the country. The Galaxy Note 20 is priced at Rs. 77,999 for the 4G variant with 256GB storage. On the other hand, the Note20 Ultra 5G carries a price tag of Rs. 1,04,999 for the 256GB storage model.
Both phones support support e-SIM by Airtel and Jio and will support Vodafone soon.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is the first phone built from the all-new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which can survive drops up to 2 meters (6.56 feet) onto hard surfaces and it’s also more scratch resistant than its predecessors.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra features a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with curved edges and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Indian market is still getting the Exynos 990 processor that’s coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
In the camera department, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with a triple-camera setup, including a 108-megapixel primary camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. It also has LED Flash and Laser Hybrid Autofocus system. For selfies, there’s a 10-megapixel camera that sits on a tiny punch-hole at the top of the screen.
The Note 20 also gets a triple-camera setup which includes a 12-megapixel primary camera with dual-pixel autofocus, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera. For selfies, it also gets a 10-megapixel punch-hole camera.
It’s worth noting that while the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra still features a dedicated microSD card slot to expand the storage up to 1TB, the Note 20 doesn’t. Further, the Galaxy Note 20 features a flat display, while the Note 20 Ultra’s screen is curved like last year’s Note 10+.
However, the biggest difference would be its build quality. Unlike the Note 20 ultra which has a glass and metal finish, the Note 20 comes with a glasstic design back which is what you get on cheaper Galaxy A series smartphones.
In terms of new functionality, Samsung says the S Pen now comes with a lower 9ms latency for even more realistic hand writing experience. On the Note20, you’ll get 20ms latency. It also offers more air gesture controls, including move forward, recent apps, home, smart select and screen capture.
The company has started taking pre-bookings for the new Galaxy Note series phones through Amazon, Flipkart, Samsung.com site and various offline retails stores.
