A leaked roadmap recently revealed that older smartphones will start getting the Windows 10 mobile update sometime in the second week of December.

The new operating system brings in a host of new features and improvements like a cleaner interface, an improved keyboard, and Microsoft Edge browser among others. Some of Windows 10′s highlights also include Universal apps, Cortana, Continuum, as well as the ability for developers to easily port their Android or iOS apps to the Windows mobile platform. The smartphones also feature Windows Hello, which lets users unlock the device by scanning their face, iris, or fingerprint.

As mentioned above, with prices starting from Rs 43,699, the new Lumia smartphones launched today are targeted at the high-end segment. While the Windows 10 mobile experience is one of the talking points, the new smartphones also boast top-of-the-line specifications and features, as well as an improved design. While most premium smartphones are opting for metal bodies, Microsoft has stuck to plastic bodies with removable back panels.
