Apple to launch iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in India on October 7, Price Starts at Rs. 60,000

Apple unveiled the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at an event yesterday in San Francisco. They will be available in India exactly a month later, from October 7. The iPhone 7 features a 4.7-inch (1334 x 750 pixels) Retina HD LED backlit IPS Display with 3D Touch technology whereas the iPhone 7 Plus features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Retina HD LED backlit IPS Display with 3D touch.

Both the devices are powered by a quad-core A10 Fusion 64-bit processor which is 40% faster than the A9 along with new hexa-core GPU and runs on the latest iOS 10 out of the box. As expected, the new iPhones doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack, instead audio is routed through lightning connector. It comes bundled with the new Earpods with lightning connector as well as a lightning to 3.5mm adapter.

The company has also redesigned the home button which house the fingerprint sensor. It is replaced with a static version that’s pressure sensitive and comes with the new generation Taptic Engine that provides different levels of vibration feedback.

The iPhone 7 sports a 12MP iSight camera with Quad-LED True tone Flash, f/1.8 aperture, Six-element lens and Optical image stabilisation (OIS). It can record 4K videos at 30 fps, slow motion Full HD videos at 120 fps and HD videos at 240 fps.

The iPhone 7 Plus sports a 12MP wide-angle and telephoto cameras with Quad-LED True tone Flash, f/1.8 aperture (wide-angle), f/2.8 aperture (telephoto), Six-element lens and Optical image stabilisation (OIS), Optical zoom up to 2x, digital zoom up to 10x. It can record 4K videos at 30 fps, slow motion Full HD videos at 120 fps and HD videos at 240 fps.

Both the new iPhones also have a similar 7MP Facetime HD camera with f/2.2 aperture, Full HD video recording, Retina flash. They are dust and water resistant with IP67 ratings, includes new stereo speakers and gives better battery life.

The Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available in Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, Black & Jet Black colour variants in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage starting at Rs. 60,000. The Jet Black colour variant will be offered in 128GB & 256GB variants.

The wireless Bluetooth Earbuds called Airpods including charging case will be sold seperately in October for Rs. 15,400. The Lightning Docks in different colour options with matching metallic finish will also be available for Rs. 3,700.

The new Lightning Connector Earpods and the Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adaptor will be available seperately for Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 900 respectively.
