How to Record the Screen on Android – no root required

How to record screen

You might have thought of sending a video doing something like a tutorial or wanted to have a gameplay recorded. And you might be searching for the perfect screen recorder for your Android smartphone. So, the problem here is Android don’t have this feature in-built like the latest iOS 11 beta. And I would like to tell you that you can even get this feature on any Android smartphone without any root. All you would be needing a single app which is officially available on the Play Store.

But before we get started let me tell you that if you are having a device with less than 2GB RAM then it might not work out perfectly for you and by that, I mean you won’t get a seamless recording. I would recommend you to have at least a memory of 3GB or 4GB of RAM to get a smooth recording. So, without any delays let’s proceed to the further process.

Record Screen on Android

Step 1: Open Play Store on your Android smartphone or tablet and search for “AZ Screen Recorder”.

Step 2:  Tap on the app, then select Install and accept the permissions.

Step 3:  Tap Open once the app is installed and it’ll show a bubble like this on the side.

Step 4: You will have several options like to take a screenshot, record a video, open the gallery, settings, etc.

Step 5: What we want to do here is actually record the screen. So, you need to tap on the video camera button which will prompt you to record.

Step 6: Hit okay and it’ll start a countdown for recording video. It’ll start capturing your android screen.

Step 7: Do anything that you wanted to record like a tutorial or a gameplay or whatever you want to.

Step 8: Once done just pull down the notification menu and hit “Stop” which will be denoted by a square button.

Step 9: Once stopped it’ll show a preview and if you tap that, you can see your recording in one of your preferred video player.

And that’s it, you can now access the file through your file manager and can directly upload it to YouTube or share to whoever you want to share the recording with.

There are many other apps which can do the same thing. Here are some of the recommendations from my side:

  •         DU Recorder
  •         Mobizen Screen Recorder
  •         Screen Recorder by NLL
  •         ADV Screen Recorder
  •         Lollipop Screen Recorder

These were the alternatives if the first method doesn’t work for you. So, if you’ve any questions regarding this, comment them down below this post.
