ZTE has unveiled its two new smartphones, Blade V8 Mini and Blade V8 Lite at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. Let’s start with the Blade V8 Mini, the more powerful of the two. The ZTE Blade V8 Mini features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS Display, and is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

It sports a dual rear camera setup with 13-megapixel sensor and 2-megapixel sensor, which the company claims are great for taking photos with a bokeh effect and generating 3D images as well. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. It also has a fingerprint sensor located at the back.

The device is backed by a 2800mAh non-removable battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat with ZTE’s custom MiFavor 4.2 UI on top. Connectivity options includes Hybrid Dual-SIM (nano + nano/microSD card), 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 & GPS.

On the other hand, the ZTE Blade V8 Lite features a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS Display, and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor along with Mali-T860 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

In terms of optics, the ZTE Blade V8 Lite sports a 8-megapixel Autofocus Rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel Fixed-focus selfie camera. It also has a fingerprint sensor located at the back. The device is backed by a 2500mAh non-removable battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat with ZTE’s MiFavor 4.2 UI on top. Connectivity options includes Hybrid Dual-SIM (nano + nano/microSD card), 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 & GPS.

  • Dimensions: 143.5x71x8 mm

The ZTE Blade V8 Mini smartphone will be available in various markets across Asia Pacific and Europe, while the V8 Lite will be available in Italy, Germany and Spain. However, the company hasn’t revealed their pricing yet.
