OnePlus has launched its much-awaited flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5 at an online event. The OnePlus 5 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Optic AMOLED Display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 10nm processor clocked at 2.4GHz. It comes in two variants – 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB of internal storage and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB internal storage.

OnePlus 5 back design

In the photography department, the OnePlus 5 sports a dual camera setup on the back with a combination of 16-megapixel primary camera and a 20-megapixel secondary camera. The camera offers up to 2x zoom and DSLR-like Bokeh effect that blurs backdrops in portrait mode. On the front, there’s a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size and Sony IMX371 sensor. It has an Anodised Aluminum unibody metal design and a ceramic fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button which can unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds.

The Dual-SIM smartphone runs OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3300mAh battery that supports Dash Charge technology.  Connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C & GPS.

The OnePlus 5 smartphone comes in Midnight Black & Slate Gray colour options, priced at $479 (Rs. 30,958 approx) / €499 (Rs. 35,884 approx) for the base 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant while the top-end 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant costs $539 (Rs. 34,849 approx) / €559 (Rs. 40,199 approx). It is now available for pre-order on OnePlus.net in the US and European markets will be available starting from June 27th.
