Nokia is back in the market with its three new android smartphones at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona. The Nokia 5 smartphone has been unveiled by HMD Global, a Finland-based company that has acquired the rights to the Nokia brand last year.

The Nokia 5 comes with a seemless aluminium metal body, features a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS LCD Display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. It is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC along with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

One of the main highlight of the Nokia 5 smartphone is of course the presence of the Google Assistant, which was earlier limited to Google’s Pixel smartphones. The company is promising regular monthly updates with new feature and security patches.

In terms of optics, the Nokia 5 sports a 13MP Rear camera with Dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size, PDAF and a 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 84-Degree wide-angle lens. It also has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button below the display.

The device is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable Li-ion battery and runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Connectivity options includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, microUSB 2.0 port, USB-OTG & GPS.

The Nokia 5 smartphone comes in Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black, Copper colour options and will be sold for 189 Euros (around Rs. 13,000) starting from Q2 this year.

The company has confirmed that the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones will be making their way to the Indian market as well by May 2017.
