Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched its new Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. Both the devices boasts a metal unibody and has water-repellent nano-coating for water resistance.

The Moto G5 features a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Display with a pixel density of 441ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

In terms of optics, the Moto G5 sports a 13-megapixel Rear camera with Dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1.1-micron pixels, PDAF, support 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel Front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, Omnivision OV5693 sensor. The device measures 9.5mm thickness and weighs 145.5 grams. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button, and also comes equipped with Google Assistant.

The Dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is backed by a 2800mAh removable battery that supports 10W Rapid Charging technology. Connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 & GPS.

The Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Display with a pixel density of 424ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

On the camera front, the Moto G5 Plus sports a 12-megapixel Rear camera with Dual-tone LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, Dual Autofocus Pixels, 1.4-micron pixels, Sony IMX362 sensor, support 4K video recording and a 5-megapixel Front camera with f/1.7 aperture, OmniVision OV5695 sensor. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button and includes built-in Google Assistant. The device measures 7.9mm thickness and weighs 155 grams. It packs a 3000mAh battery with Turbo Charge technology that claims to give 6 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging.

The Dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC & GPS.

Both the smartphones comes in Fine Gold and Lunar Gray colour options. The Moto G5 is priced at EUR 199 (US $210 / Rs. 14,000 approx) for the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage variant. The Moto G5 Plus has been priced at $229 (around Rs. 15,300) for the 2GB RAM with 32GB storage variant while the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant costs EUR 279 (US $294 / Rs. 19,630 approx). The pricing of the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant is not clear at this moment. Both Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will roll out in March in various countries including Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America.
