Samsung, LG, HTC are famous in launching a scaled down version of their flagships and high-end advantageous variants. In past years, we haven’t seen such practice from any of the brands but looks like LG used their previous strategy this time round. They launched the LG Q8 which is a scaled down version of the LG V20.
The LG Q8 comes with a 5.2-inch QHD Panel and also a new display on the side of the front camera. The back of the Q8 looks same as the LG V20 with the same positions for the Camera and other components.
LG this time around did a great job with launching the LG Q8, which is typically a flagship handset but a small footprint. The Phone is the one for which many people had been waiting for. Talking on the phone, it comes with IP67 waterproofing and Snapdragon 820 SoC which makes the phone a real competitor to any handset in the premium range.
The Phone comes with a dual camera setup at the back. Of the two, one camera comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with 1/2.6″ size, and 1.12µm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture. This lens comes with a 78-degree angle. Another camera comes with a 135-degree wide angle lens for capturing vast shots. The primary camera of the phone packs in OIS which makes shooting easier in the night, and while walking.
On the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera which might be a bit small for the standards. The Front camera is also a wide lens camera of 120-degrees.
The screen of the phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is a Quantum IPS panel which LG uses with its flagship smartphones. Secondary display of the phone has a 160 x 1040 pixel resolution which is same as that we found in the LG V20, but obviously the size is smaller hence ppi is a tad higher than the V20.
The LG Q8 smartphone will be available for sale later this month, what do you think about the LG Q8? Do let us know in the comment section below.
