LG has officially launched its flagship LG G5 modular smartphone in India. The LG G5 has a metal body with glass on the front. It sports a 5.3-inch Quad HD always-on Display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 554ppi pixel density. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 2TB using microSD card.
The LG G5 has Dual rear camera lens with the LED Flash between them. It comes with a 16MP & 8MP Rear Camera. On the front, wide-angle 8MP Selfie camera. The company says that the LG Cam Plus will enhance the camera experience with auto-focus, exposure lock and a physical button for power, shutter and some other photography features. The Fingerprint sensor is placed on the back below the camera module. It boasts 2800mAh slide-out battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with LG UX on the top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C 2.0, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS.
LG has also announced two modules for the LG G5 called the CAM Plus and Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play. The CAM Plus is a camera module that can be attached through the battery slot to provide a comfortable grip and proper camera controls like shutter key, a dedicated Video key and Zoom button and also adds 1200mAh battery to the phone. LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play is a portable Hi-Fi audio player which can be plugged into LG G5 to provide high-quality audio experience on the smartphone.
The LG G5 comes in Silver, Gold & Titan colour variants and has been priced at Rs. 52,990 in India. The smartphone is now available for purchase exclusively from Flipkart and also available through retail stores across the country. It comes with a free battery and charging cradle worth Rs. 3,499 for a limited period. The company has also launched the the LG 360 CAM for Rs. 21,490 (MRP) and the LG 360 VR for Rs. 21,990 (MRP) in India.
