KFC and Huawei launches a limited edition smartphone to celebrate their 30th anniversary in china

The smartphone companies of today, keeps on experimenting their phones adding special features to it. This year’s CES and MWC bring us a whole new level of smartphone technologies and features. We have seen dual rear cameras, a RAM of size 8GB in a phone and much more, but that’s not just the end. This year is going to bring a lot more. The fried chicken chain KFC and chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei are joining hands to make a new smartphone known as the KFC Huawei 7 Plus. The phone is going to launch in the success of KFC and Huawei which completed 30 years in the Chinese market.

KFC Huawei 7 Plus smartphone

Huawei took a Enjoy 7 Plus smartphone and added the spices of KFC to make a finger-lickin’ special edition phone. The phone has a sleek front side with very small bezels and black bottom and top. The back side of the phone is of red color which resembles both the companies and has an engraving of Colonel Sanders along with the logo of Huawei. The black and red combination used in the phone is extremely eye catching and vibrant. The main objective behind this phone is neither high performance nor low cost. It is made to symbolize the success of the two companies.

The phone comes with a metal-unibody design, 5-inch HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. The device runs on a 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

KFC Huawei Phone

Talking about the camera, the phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera as well. The phone packs a 3020mAh battery and runs on EMUI 5.1 which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. It also has a fingerprint sensor which is placed at the back side. The phone has a pre-installed KFC’s smartphone application with 100,000 “k dollars”, virtual money or credits which can be used in the application. The smartphone also provides other applications of KFC like the K-music which a jukebox functioning application designed by KFC.  

As said before, the phone is not meant for selling purpose, the company is providing only 5,000 units in the market. The phone comes with a price tag of CNY 1,099 ($162 / Rs. 10,000 approx). It will be available for sale from July 13, the purchase of the phone can only be done online. This is a great initiative by both the companies and we are going to see many more collaborations like this in future.
