ASUS ZenFone Max, the new budget smartphone from ASUS, is now officially launched in India for a price of Rs.9,999. The ZenFone Max is exclusively available on Flipkart and Amazon starting today from 12pm onwards and the customers will be able to pre-book the phone from today. The online retailer lists the tentative release date to be January 14. It will also be available at ASUS Exclusive Stores from the second fortnight of January. The ASUS Zenfone Max (ZC550KL) is available in White and Pure Black color variants.

ASUS ZenFone Max sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The smartphone measures 156mm tall, 77.5mm wide, and 10.5mm thick. It weighs 202 grams. The device packs 2GB RAM and comes with 16GB built-in internal storage capacity. Likewise, it supports external microSD expansion of up to 64GB.

It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. As for the camera, the Zenfone Max sports a 13-megapixel main rear camera with autofocus and a dual tone LED flash. It comes coupled with a 5-megapixel front snapper. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh non removable Li-polymer battery. The company claims that the ZenFone Max can deliver up to 914 hours of standby time and up to 38 hours of talk time. The smartphone boots on Android Lollipop 5.1 Lollipop with ZenUI. The smartphone packs in the usual connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and also delivers 4G bands with a dual SIM set up.
