It appears that Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML is about to get the Android 5.1 Lollipop treatment soon. But now it looks like ASUS is going to skip Android 5.1 update, and release Android 6.0 Marhmallow update for ZenFones.
ASUS ZenFone 2 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2015. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch. The Asus ZenFone 2 is powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Asus ZenFone 2 packs a 13-megapixel primary camera with Dual-tone led flash on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The Asus ZenFone 2 runs Android 5.0 and is powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery. It measures 152.50 x 77.20 x 10.90 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 170.00 grams. On the software side, the Zenfone 2 run Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI on the top.
So, If you are a Zenfone 2 user, you shouldn’t wait for the official 5.1 update because we are sure that ASUS will release 6.0 Marshmallow soon. And it should be, after all, Asus is a reputed company with lots of followers, and is a big brand, even if it lacks flagships that could challenge the best of Samsung and HTC. Anyway, Asus has a solid presence in mid-range smartphone segment, and when the likes of Samsung and LG have rolled out Android 6.0 updates already, there is no reason why Asus would lag behind in updating its flagship of the year device, Zenfone 2.
